This is the third year I've gone down to California for the Coachella concert. I went in 1999 and 2002. This year I went by myself, so I just flew down. I saw lots of great bands this year, but my favorite was seeing Daft Punk live!

Back in 2003 I went to the Netherlands and Denmark for a vacation. I figured since I've got a blog, I'll link the photos from the trip so you can look at them!

For my birthday this year I treated myself to a trip to DC. I'd never been and I heard the museums there were great so I went.. It was really fun! There are lots of museums there and they're all FREE (my favorite word). If you like musuems, you should go to DC when you can!

A couple weeks ago Royksopp was in town and I went to the show. They were awesome and the crowd was really great. They played at the Showbox and it was packed! This is the 2nd time I've seen them. Last time they were here they played at Chop Suey.

A few weeks ago I went to the ocean. Long Beach, Wa to be exact. I went with my mom, dad, and lil bro. There was a huge kite festival and there were tons of kites in the sky that weekend!

Last night I went to see DJ Z-Trip at Neumo's.. the show was great, but REALLY loud (I should've worn earplugs.. my ears are still ringing) The classic hip hop duo Black Sheep opened up for him and they were awesome. They did lots of their old stuff plus the tracks off the new album all sounded really good too. This is the the 3rd or 4th time I've seen Z-Trip spin live and he keeps getting better and better each time. There was also a great set of visuals synched up with the whole set. I can't wait to go see him again!..

I was listening to Liquid Swords by the GZA this morning on my way into work and I was reminded again of how great it is. Also, it's full of samples from the movie Shogun Assassin.. if you've never seen in it and you like to see really bloody samurai action, track it down and watch it!

I was just thinking about this movie today.. it's really great. It's about a blind dude who has this weapon he throws at people to chop off their heads.

I think the old video game Street Fighter 2 had a character inspired by this movie also.. he has long stretchy arms in the movie, but doesn't spit fire out..

I was in Chicago over the weekend and I went to the Field Museum.. it was really amazing how many dead animals they have there that still look like they're alive, but frozen in time. I wish there was a museum like that in Seattle, I'd go there with my sketchbook all the time!
